Galleria Tommaso Calabro is pleased to present, at its Milan venue, the exhibition See You, the first part of an exhibition project that will continue in Venice.
The exhibition explores portraiture, one of art history’s most enduring and complex genres. Since antiquity, portraiture has served as a tool of memory and representation. It is rooted in theories of physiognomy, or the belief that outer appearance fully reflects inner character.
See You aims to bring together different historical perspectives, showing how portraiture continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to its original function: to make the presence of the other visible and to pass on their identity through time.
Conceived as a concluding moment in the gallery's journey, these exhibitions bring together years of research, encounters, and shared experiences. They are both a reflection and an invitation — to return, to look closely, and to spend time together once more.
